Fat Boy 5K - Fun Run!

This is definitely one of my favorite runs of the year. Not because of the donuts, brats, and beer after the race. . . but because they actually take time off my total for my giant ass! They take off a second per pound. For me that equaled 3 whole minutes and 28 seconds! HOORAY! Although that really doesn't count for much since the same people still win (they get to take the time off too) It still gives me some vindication for running at my size! OH! And I almost forgot. The T-shirt is hilarious! Who wouldn't wanna run with a giant beer gut Elvis on a T!

Also, what was great about this run was that my honey was doing it with me! Although he wasn't really "with me" most of the time. I loved seeing his face at the finish line waiting for me!

Race Results: 39:33 (my real time 43:01)

love to run IN THE RAIN!

Is started out gray but the rain hadn't set it for the Run For A Wish 5K. My friend Katie and I kept moving to stay warm. Then right as the starting gun sounded so did the RAIN! It was great! It was like an adventure to slosh through the puddles and kick up the rocks and I pumped through the streets. I think I may try some more trail running after this!

Race Results: unbelievably slower than last time even though I had the rain to keep me cool 42:30 Average pace time 13:43 per mile

Diet Dee-lish Dish

I signed myself up for Weight Watchers and lost 1.6 pounds this week! I am liking their newer program using "filling foods" (which is basically the old core/flex plan combined).

At my meeting someone plugged Egg Mugs from HungryGirl.com. Sounded like an interesting quick and easy breakfast (or snacktime) meal so I gave it a try and YUM! I tried the Pizza Egg Mug but want to try the spinach and feta one next week. . .

Ingredients:
2 tbsp. canned crushed tomatoes
1/8 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 cup fat-free liquid egg substitute (like Egg Beaters Original)
1 wedge The Laughing Cow Light Original Swiss cheese
6 slices turkey pepperoni (like the kind by Hormel), chopped
1/2 tsp. reduced-fat Parmesan-style grated topping

Directions:
Season crushed tomatoes with Italian seasoning and set aside.

Spray a large microwave-safe mug lightly with nonstick spray. Add egg substitute and cheese wedge, breaking the cheese wedge into pieces as you add it. Microwave for 1 minute.

Stir gently, and then microwave for another 30 seconds.

Mix in seasoned tomatoes and pepperoni. Microwave for another 30 seconds, until scramble is just set.

Stir lightly, and then sprinkle with grated topping. Allow to cool a bit, and then ENJOY!

SLOW POKE...That's me!

Ran a rather depressing 5k today.
41:45!
I haven't ran that slow in over a year. YUCK!
Better hit that pavement a bit more...

P.S. Did I mention I gained 28 pounds since my half-marathon
in September? I wonder...

Back on THAT Road Again!

I haven't updated anything in so long!!!

I completed the Disney Half Marathon in September in under my goal time by 3 minutes...woohooo. It was awesome! Unfortunately, I lost my momentum after the race.

I don't know if it's the let down from finishing my giant half-marathon goal from the last year or lack of Anna (my running partner was injured) but I can't seem to get up and just go running. AND I GAINED BACK 9 POUNDS! ARGH!

So I signed myself up for the Turkey Trot 10K Thanksgiving weekend and strapped my running shoes back on yesterday, pressed play on my C25K training again (started on Week 4 and it was TOUGH!) and put myself back out on Sparkpeople.com again!

I hope this gets me back on the road!
